WOW Cym! you seem to have a lot or 'respect' for not just your food but your kitchen as well. Sounds like you've had some good training mate. Utmost respect for ya mate. I think being a chef is one of the hardest jobs to maintain a standard. You can't fuck up with that food and serve it can ya!. I had really bad days in the studio at times when I was sound engineering but I knew I could get away with a lot!! Ya can't do that with food and presentation.

I think with Ramsey all the t.v work has taken away from the fact that he is one of the best chefs of this generation. He wasnt born with a silver spoon(his father was an abusive alcoholic) and worked his way up the ladder the hard way. His enthusism is incredible. Anyone who has 3 3michellin star restaurants in the same country is pretty special. He is def spreading himself around a bit too much these days, but ask any chef and they will tell you that Ramsey is the boy!
Le Gavroche in London is one of my favourie restaurants, along with the fat duck in bray and the chandlery here in sunny Newport.

Dying of bleedin hay fever (in the mid of sep , whats that about) Im a big ball of snot with red eyes to boot! Most pleasent thing about a bad hayfever attack is that it makes me feel a little stoned which can be quite pleasent in a wierd way!

I think that's what I liked about Jamie Oliver in the beginning. He wasn't a pompous ass like some of these chefs you see on TV these days. As you say though Ramsey has become such a 'marmite' that you either love him or you hate him. There's no in between with that guy. I also have to admit to loving watching Kieth Floyd because he is such a character. They still show is programs on The Saturday Morning Kitchen on BBC1 in the mornings. Floyd on Spain, Floyd on the Med. etc. We only used to watch him REALLY because we heard he was this pissed chef on TV. Spitting Image did a great puppet of him!!

I had the taster menu when i went. It took over 3 hours to serve and was amazing. Weird and wonderfull flavours. I wasnt drinking at the time so i appreciated it!!
