As I said, I'm new to this site, but not new to trying to get sober. I'm a married mom with 3 kids; I live in Boise, Idaho in the States. Other than my 3 pregnancies, the longest I've been sober in the past 22 years is for four months. That was after a stint in out-patient rehab. I'm contstantly trying to give up the bottle of wine. Since the alcoholism effects my sleep habits, when I'm laying in bed in the wee hours of the morning, recounting the night before, I tell myself, "I don't want to drink. I'm not going to drink today." Before noon even rolls around, I'm looking forward to going to the store and getting a bottle of wine. I'm really trying hard this time and for once, my husband is trying with me. So I'm going to try to sign on to this website each day to check in with the AF Army. With 3 children (all under 5!), going on the computer is difficult, but I'll do my best. Thank you for your support :-)When life is more than you can stand...kneel.

Maybe it is a part of the detoxification process. I have been hearing other people say that they are getting them. I drank 2 quarts of herbal cleanse this week. Expelling the poisons maybe."Decide-Which Voice in Your Head you Can Keep Alive" (Shinedown)

You can do it MM. I know that feeling of needing the wine badly....earlier and earlier too. I had got to the point of having some before my morning coffee ;o(
Here is what made the difference for me. Do you have the supplements?Living now and not just existing since 9th July 2008

Welcome MM. Glad you are here. I hope you will download the MWO book, and develop a solid plan to support your hopes to get free from the alcohol. Remember that "hoping" and "trying" are all very tentative terms. You might want to spend some time thinking about your level of commitment. For many of us, it is helpful to work on the clear recognition of the fact that our alcohol abuse has the very strong likelihood of destroying our health, and seriously damaging the lives of our children. When seen in that perspective, it makes sense to adjust our priorities to what we sometimes call "doing whatever it takes."
A lot of what we do around here is fun; but it is also deadly serious! Stick around, you will find a lot of help and support!
best wishes,
wip

I don't have supplements, but I have an anti-craving med from my doctor called "Campral". I take it 3 times a day and it's supposed to take away the cravings. Still waiting for it to work after 3 weeks! When life is more than you can stand...kneel.
