Hello all. Just been down the park with my daughter. Beaut of a day and really enjoyed it. Bee got me thinking earlier and ive just masde a nice thai chicken curry for lunch. Really enjoying the weather.

New today

I am new today also. I am 47. Live south of Boston. I don't have any children but I have a four year old German Shepherd. Can't really remember the last time I have been sober for any period of time other than a day or so. I love red wine. I live with my fiance and he works a couple of 24 hour shift every week so the days that he works I start drinking pretty early and do not stop until I pass out on the couch. The other days when he is home when I get home from work I have a glass of wine when I cook dinner and with dinner and then I proceed to sneak the rest of the night. I have wine in closets and the most convenient is in the kitchen cabinet so when I am doing the dishes I can just have it readily available. He is constantly saying I drink too much which just makes me angry and want to drink more. Who am I fooling? I am so sick of feeling sick when I wake up in the morning and have such bad headaches. I need to lose about 20 pounds and have been going to Weight Watchers for years. I eat very healthy so I know it's the wine. When I am hungover I crave food. I am really impressed with this website and I really want this to work. I usually just drink at home or my neighbors that I can walk to. I have pretty much become a hermit because of my drinking. My best friend has been my merlot bottle for a long long time.

Welcome new. you are in a great place here and are more than welcome to join the army. There are no rules, just a desire to stop the madness of drinking. White wine was my 'pleasure' for a long time, but i have been 3 weeks sober tdy, and couldnt of done it without the help of everyone on this site. Good luck to you.

Welcome MM and New! My demon was red wine as well. This is a great site and you will get the encouragement you need.

I've been off a few days dealing with ugly business. (I'm being sued) I had a few times that I could have REALLY USED A DRINK, but resisted and stuck to my Iced Tea.

Cy, I have missed it, what did your DR. say when you got to report you AF since your last visit?

Well done Mich. Havent seen my doc since i quit, but my councellor was very happy, and said that she could see i was alot more positive. Had never heard of MWO though, so ive printed a copy of the book for her to read next time i see her!

thanks starting and mich. Im feeling pretty good, and the big difference between now and the last 2 years that i gave up is that im enjoying it. Its not a chore. Its something i want to do, rather than know i have to do.
