Chelle, with all respect and affection, sounds as if your plan is to drink moderately... is this really the right thread for you, at this point?

Chelle mentoned this and was encouraged to keep contributing here. It's not a hard and fast rule about our intake, is it, since some don't admit it but Chelle has. I personally like to talk to her here, and who knows that being AF won't rub off. Anyway, just my opinon, but I want to be in touch with Chelle whereever she goes. Chelle, honey, probably not a good idea to post HERE about any drinking you do, save that for the mod boards. We don't want any secrets and you've been above board about everything. Hope this doesn't become a conflict for anyone, since everyone is valuable here and we're striving for the same thing - sanity in our lives. I'm very new here, WIP, and hope we can work this all out since I so value your postings. I feel it's just easier with people with whom we've established a relationship. Wishing you both a sane and sober day.

Are you using PHotobucket? I discovered that there is an option when you are importing the photos into photobucket, from your computer, to say what size you want them imported as. That is why mine were gigantic, the default option on mine apparently was the HUGE option. I changed it to the MEDIUM option. Worked.

Ruby I absolutely agree that nobody wants to lose touch with Chelle! When people come here, and say they have been drinking, despite their plan to be AF, we always ask them to stick around. But if their plan changes to one of moderate alcohol intake, then the AF Army would not be the place (in my opinion) to be talking about that.

It's not so much a matter of whether people are here talking about having had some alcohol, but more a matter of what their goals and plans are. I certainly don't want anyone discouraged from posting on any of the ABS threads about having "slipped" (although I think that term is totally inaccurate), so long as they genuinely want to step back up, and work on a plan to be AF.

Oh. I never use that thing, it doesn't work for me. I go through the Photobucket website. You have to register an account then you can load your pictures from your hard drive onto the website, THEN you can paste them into these posts, just like YouTube pasting.

Thanks, WIP. I just know that many (OK, maybe all) of us are very sensitive right now, like our nerves are on TOP of our skin. I'm with you as far as gentle guideance for Chelle. We all are diminished we someone leaves. Chelle is trying, aren't you girl, but we do have to pick a path and stick with it long enough to see some results. This is really what the boards are about, hanging on to each other thru hard times. I'm behind you, I want you to suceed, just like everyone else here does. We are all struggling, and being here sometimes is all I have.

Ruby, I'm totally with you. Unfortunately, there is this built-in tension in MWO between those who choose a plan/goal of AF and those who choose a plan/goal of moderation. In my opinion, that tension creates all kinds of problems here on the forum. One (fairly awkward, I think) solution is that there are basically 3 types of threads: AF threads, Mods threads, and "anything goes" threads. Of course people will shift back and forth on their own goals, and on their ability to meet those goals... and they will go back and forth as to where they prefer to post. I do think that having some AF threads for those who are seriously working on a plan/goal to be AF (at least for a 30 day period, for example) is a VERY important feature of this MWO forum. And that is because I also think that HAVING plans and goals, and respecting them, and sticking to them, and returning to them as soon as possible when we have failed to stick to them... is vitally important in our efforts to get free of alcohol and/or alcohol abuse in our lives.

Maybe others disagree with me here, and that's fine... but I would not want to see the AF Army thread become a place within which it really doesn't matter whether or not the participants are actively working on a goal/plan to be free from alcohol, at least for a certain period of time.

Chelle, NONE of what I am saying implies any disrespect (or lack of caring), whatsoever, for you! I have had many, many periods of time during which it was my own goal and plan to engage in moderate consumption of alcohol. As it turns out, I can't seem to do that, and now, I accept it... but I was unable to accept it until I had tried it many, many times. Everyone has to work out all these things in their own way.
