Those striving to be alc free who slip are here to be helped, because it is not there choice to start drinking, they are just finding it hard, as we have all done. People in that case talking about drinking and asking for advice is why we are here.

I agree with everything you are saying, Cy, except the part about "choice." I do think that a "slip" IS a choice to drink. That's why I never use the term "slip." I think that if we create some kind of idea in our heads that our "slips" are more like "accidents" than they are like choices, then we are much farther away from taking responsibility for our own behavior... and that much farther from getting healthy and strong.

I hope vlads continues to post here (but not about modding, I hope), and that she also finds threads where she finds help and support for moderate drinking, because I know that will be a challenging endeavor! Same for Bandit (and I'm glad to see you back, Bandit!).

Just a fly-by! Spoke to MIL and told her, kindly (she's an old woman, after all) how that's my BD (she said "It is??") and I always go there, plus my fav niece, who's just back from rehab, asked to use cabin weekend of 18th for her BD, and OF COURSE I agreed. She's trying so hard to stay AF! Told MIL this is the tourist time of year there and everything gets booked, sometimes a year ahead, but she is welcome to ASK ME FIRST anytime they want to go. Message sent! Vladdie and Bandit, I think the messages above are, post here, we love you, just no mention of AL or your modding. I would be distraught if you left us. This group reminds me of 5 of us who used to work in the same area, and it was hilarious, but some were so jealous, and, since we were in our own little corner, they began referring to it as "The Dark Side"!

No news today. D day will be tmr i think. Sort of worried and excited about what might happen. Just want to know! Thinking about Vlads thread earlier, and what will be will be. If i dont get it then it was not the right path for me to start on, and i will look for another.
