Ditto to what WIP said. AKmom you have posted some things about what you like about Palin and I respect that because you live there. I would be curious to hear how you think she is qualified to be the next potential President of our country, let alone the VP. I am an Independent so keep a very open mind but she is so obviously not ready for this major step.

you sheeple are un fucking believable. i think its pretty common practice for politicians to dodge questions in one form or another. i guess it was ok for you liberals hero bill clinton to look america in the eys and actually lie about monica lewinski. or for obama to use a question as aspringboard for some dissertation thats not intended to answer the question itself as much as it is to work the flock up into a lather. want an example? ask obama about his view on guns. he says he "supports the 2nd amendment". when asked specifically about gun bans you get a soaring oratory about "common sense gun control" and "respecting the traditions handed down" from one bitter gun clinger to his bitter gun clinging children. and of course "supporting the second amendment" flies directly in the face of his voting record. just an example of a politician being a politician. a big part of what i see palin being bashed for.

also i would point out the fact that theres a difference between dumb and unqualified.

i guess my last point would be to note the personal attacks on palin for her conservative views by so many who completley ignore (or accept) the views of the people obama has surrounded himself with since college. wow. something about that just seems wrong. or maybe i'm wrong, maybe my views aren't sufficiently "nuanced".

haha IAD the dems have been mad since '00. they should be happy now though because theres no way mccain will win this election.

i'll admit as a republican that im angry with bush. i voted for him in '04 and he's thanked me by allowing our country (not to mention the GOP brand) to go right down the toilet. now the dems will be in charge of all 3 branches of gov't (since obama will appoint liberal activist judges to the supreme court). america-hating flag burning liberals rejoice.

I liked the stock market going up, the price of gas going down, and health care being affordable.

All of that changed in January 2001. Then in 2003 we invaded a country that didn't attack us. Why? Because Daddy's little boy thought he would impress Dad with it. After all, he's got the nuke trigger.

I'm a Republican also, but I never voted for Bush, because I don't vote for people unqualified to hold office. Look where it's gotten us.

I'm going to hold my nose and vote again, for the most educated and qualified leader. That's my opinion of what President should be; the most educated and qualified leader.

VP Debate - And I am so ashamed

OK....I am going to have to do this in pieces. Sarah Palin in my opinion is not ready to lead our country, even as the second chair.

First, she's not all bad, she is a staunch supporter of education and that is vital in a state our size.

She realized that the energy crisis was going to cripple families this winter, and assisted in getting the energy relief bill passed in time to fill my heating oil tank.

Now for the flip side. She has been fighting giving raises to our fire departments and police departments since she got into office. Keep in mind they hadn't had raises in 3 years. She finally agrees on a 3 1/2 percent raise, then 3 percent every 3 years for 6 years. They had asked for 5 now and 5 every 3 years. The same day that their raise kicks in, the cost of their out of pocket insurance cost tripled. If you were paying $75 every paycheck it was now $225 per paycheck. The raise at 5% would have covered the cost increase, but at 3 1/2 % they are making less money than they were before the raise.

None of us knew she was pregnant until 6 weeks before giving birth. She has a nasty habit of waiting until the last possible minute to bring to light any information that pertains to her or her family, and only when it will become a media issue. We spend most of our media time dealing with whatever new problem has arised with her and her family.

                      More to come.

Oops, look at her daughter being pregnant. If she wasn't on the ticket we wouldn't have known until the last minute.

                        Now, more to come later.

I have heard, Akmom that Alaskan's opinion has fallen now that the national media has uncovered what she's been doing in the Gov's office. Do you feel AK'ers feel less of her now than on Sept 2nd?

VP Debate - And I am so ashamed

Hello Everyone: I just heard one of McCain's lackeys actually state that, "Obama has NEVER accomplished one thing in his entire life." I would dare say growing up bi-racial, raised by a single mother in a racist society, graduating magna cum laude from our nation's most prestigious university and being the first person of color to be president of the Harvard Law Review would rate surely at least a [I]small accomplishment in most people's minds. That doesn't even take into account anything else he has done.

We have been subjected to cowboy politics, shoot first and ask questions later, kneejerk reactions for 8 years. Finally, we have someone who actually might think before he acts and might seek wise counsel from people who know more than he does regarding certain subjects, such as the mess our economy is in, the wars, or energy. John McCain (who BTW graduated fifth from the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy) jumped on his white horse, suspended his campaign and road into Washington to save the day. For what? He talks about the surge, the surge, the surge--guess what??? The surge is over, what now? He and his henchwoman, Zena Warrior Princess, are a scary twosome. They whip their constituents into frenzies at these rallies and I have actually heard people yell, "kill him," or "he's a terrorist," referring to Obama.

                            God help us all. Kay

yes, at a rally today in Florida with Palin, people were booing the press who were there covering the event. Someone yelled a racial epithet at a black sound man and told him to "sit down, boy." Scary, ugly stuff indeed. And now the stuff about Ayres. Obama was 8. Yeegads!
:boxer: Get the hell out of my house, Al, you worthless bastard!!
