    whats the biggest lie youve ever told yourself...

    I think I was too oblivious to the fact I had a problem so actually 'lying' to myself didn't come into it. In hindsight though I guess it was an identity crisis with how I expected others to perceive me rather than how I saw my true self.

      ....that my son couldn't really tell when I was drinking.

                    My biggest lie to myself is saying i can handle it knowing full well im in denial.
                    Also when i say to myself monday is the day im going to STOP drinking but monday never comes.

                          Just remembered another one: Told myself that, since I could sometimes drink "moderately," that meant I really didn't need to stop drinking.

                              The BIGGEST self deseption for me was that if I stopped drinking, I could not handle the stress of counseling so many people thru their tramas.What a hunk of BULL that was.alcohol wasn't making me better at handling stress.It was making me numb so that I wasn't processing and releasing stress in a normal healthy way.I am still going thru releasing those years of other peoples problems.I was trained to not to internalize others tramas but AL not only swallow them but store them up for a rainey day.Tons of excuses to drink more...
