No word from sea. Hope it's a good sign!!! We only have black widow (easy to spot) and brown recluse, (not). For snakes, copperheads are the worst here, but just north they have rattlers, and south, well, they have every damn thing that can kill you!! Close to the tropics.sigpic

The only thing I used to worry about when walking the dogs was the odd wild boar, but they usually kept out of your way unless they were in a really bad mood.It's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.Comment

Those copperheads are nasty! We have rat snakes here. Up at the lake we go to, there are road runners. They are cool!

Around the cabin, last year a 'city man' came for a nature day with his kids. He saw a small snake and picked it up to show kids how harmless it was and how to properly handle reptiles. AFTER the copperhead bit him, he spent quite some time in the hospital! Not funny, but it is since he lived!!!sigpic

Ruby, I grew up in the Tropics so I know what you mean about "every damn thing that can kill you". I hated all the critters in Florida! We have black bear everywhere, but they're not usually aggressive unless they have cubs and you provoke them.sigpic
