    My dog is ill

    Hi All,
    Casey is back home
He has a respiratory infection and (sorry ifanyone's eating at the mo) mucus build up, so he's been given antibiotics and also sachets of something called "bisolvon powder" which I put in his drinking water.
So basically, its a chest infection.. h also has a temperature too.. poor thing.
Im keeping both dogs separate forthe rest of today and overnight, cos the vet told me to keep Casey quiet and all Harvey wants to do is play!
The vet also suggested we take Casey into the bathroom with us whenever any of us gets a shower or bath because the steam would help to clear his nasal passages.
So, Im busy TRYING to get some scrambled eggs down him (his appetite is gone) and Ive hidden the tablets in the food.

Thanks to everyone for being there for me today
    Love, a very relieved Chelle

Great everything is o.k Chelle. Can you do what humans do and put somevics in boiling water in the room so that it helps clear the chest?

        My dog is ill

Just as a general comment about pets. I have a beautiful Siamese who was having such a hard time with sneezing, coughing and just a horrible time breathing. Took him to several specialists.. they all said he needed surgery, drill through his skull for relief etc.. it was going to cost us over $4,000. Then one of the vet in the same hospital suggested trying all natural products first, just to see.. well 10 days later after being on a immune sytem booster made of all natural products.. no more sneezing, coughing or hard breathing (we could hear him across the room before). he has been on these booster drops for a few months and he loves the taste. The symptoms never came back and to think we were ready to drill his poor beautiful white head.
I am not saying this is the way to go with everything, but it is worth checking into when you have a problem with our "other" children, our pets.

          My dog is ill

          Hi Waiting,
the problems you had with your siamese seem really similar to what Casey has been suffering for the past couple of years. He's always sneezing (worse when he barks) and coughing and 'gagging' a lot. When I first took him to the vets ages ago the vet suggested it was a soft palette problem, but after today's xrays and investigation, everything seems to be in order.. so I dont know why he's had the breathing/eating problem for so long.
Can you tell me what was in the booster drops? I may try this remedy on Casey once he's finished his antibiotic course and has recovered from the bronchial infection.

Oh, and he also burps a hell of a lot - even when he hasnt been eating... so I dont know if this is linked as well.

It certainly doesnt judging by the website!
If I can find something suitable on there, it will save me a fortune in vets fees
