I adore the New Forest in the South of England - no matter how busy we are when we visit I always make sure that I have time for a ""trample through some bracken".

Beaches anywhere are also beautiful! I am absolutely not a "sun bunny", but just love the feel of openess.

Unfortunately I live close to neither at the moment so try to capture the opportunities when they come along!

My Happy Place.

IAD,

I have sailed the Bermuda Triangle area many times. I never saw a "mist" that sucked us in. I did however get caught in storms there. One time we had to ride one out all the way to the North East part of the Islands. It was not fun. Tiller was hard core and the port side of the boat was in the water for hours.

However, we survived, the ship survived and all were happy.

One time we got stuck in a storm and all we could do was helms alee. I was tied to the mast and brought the sails down myself. We ended up in a quay aground. Luckily we hit ground when it was high tide. We just waited out the tide and floated off.

Beautiful ocean, beautiful islands, wonderful people.

I miss that so much. I got married and hubby hates sailing and water.

Cinder....I went on a cruise back in July this year, got caught up in that Tropical storm and had to dock on the other end of Bermuda. Extra day at Sea too. Ha! Bermuda is beautiful though. IASD.

My "ship" was only 32 feet.

A 32 foot Columbian with an oversized sail. She was beautiful.

My goal was to live on a boat like that and sail every day.

My reality was being married to hubby. I don't regret it. I have had a wonderful life with him. I do miss the ocean, though.

However, today I have 9 acres of hard woods on top of a mountain in Alabama.

I miss Colorado.

But, I do have beauty around me.

Once the trees go into full Fall foliage. I will post.

It is beautiful here. I do live in my "happy place." I have 9 acres of hardwoods, 3 grandchildren, another 2 by marriage (and they, too are very special) and another grandchild on the way.

My life is incredible.

But, I do miss my days on the ocean. Going out so far there is no land in sight. Nothing but the boat, the wind, the sails and the people with me. Wow. That was something. I loved it.

Plenty of times. However, I loved being on the ocean so much, it didn't matter. I would just throw up over the side and keep going.
