swapping addictions
Hi Cedar, whenever I cut down on drinking wine I find I smoke a hell of a lot more, so maybe there is a definite link there somewhere on destructive addictions.?I am playing all the right notes... But not necessarily in the right order.....?

swapping addictions
Hi Cedar,
Yay another South African!!
I defiently smoked more when I was AF but now that I have a goal to quit I have started cutting back slowly. I too have noticed that the odd drink has a big effect on me - not one I like either:-0"The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it"

When I quit smoking, I started drinking a lot more and when I quit drinking I started smoking a lot more. There is a definate connection. I want to quit smoking again. Caffeine also plays a big role in my swapping addictions.
The times I had that one drink, it effected me immediately because I was sober. When your sober, you notice the effects. When we are drunk all the time, the effects of the AL are less noticable to ones self.
I also was at the point where the first beer made me slur my words and a needed more to get me back to the level I needed to speak properly. My liver could not keep up and it was a mess.Starting over again 09/06/11
