                      If you force him he will always associate it with something unpleasant. Just feed him, play with him or stroke him while he is calm in there.

                        does he have a fav toy? you could play with it in there so perhaps throw it in so he goes in to get it. dont shut the door on him though, just nice and easy....

                          Yes feed him in there oney and perhaps give him a treat everytime he goes in there. My dogs all get feed in their kennels and there is always a mad dash at tea time as they sprint to there kennels and wait for me to put their tea in and shut the door. One dog can even open the door of her kennel if it is shut so she can get in, it's quite cute. The bullie backs into his one so he can keep an eye on his tea.

                            guess I need to try that too, my dog hates her crate but if I don't put her in ther she piddles all over the carpet when I am gone
