akgirl, I do agree that she handled some very heavy-duty humor with a good bit of dignity, even poise. For that, I respect her. Otherwise, however.... I wouldn't want to see her running anything much of anything that had a direct impact on human (or animal) lives...

AK, Palin has nothing to apologize for. Her enormous popularity rate in her home state shows how much she is loved by her constituents. I may just move up there some day.

why are people allowed to get away with calling Palin some kind of "barbie". that is a sexist label and rude on many levels. if I called Mrs Obama a barbie people here would flip out.

I am really not all that political, and I am very hopeful that there is positive change in our futures. I just have very conservative values and sided with McCain/Palin because of them.

I respect Obama and pray he does right by this country.

It's obvious we all have different beliefs, that is fine. It's great we can all voice them, that's what Americas is all about. But let's not forget we're all friends :l here for a different cause.

I just finished watching both speeches (again) and am just blown away by the class and inclusiveness of each candidate for the people to come together, work together, to bring the United States back to where the founding fathers meant it to be, not run by corporate greed or special interests, but to bring opportunity and the chance for prosperity to all the people. The world watches and maybe we can begin to erase our tarnished reputation globally.

I second that! While I voted for Obama, I was still very impressed with McCain as well. I think our country is finally on the right path.
