What Feel-Good Activities Can Replace Drinking?

    Good afternoon!!!

I am looking to find stress-busting, feel-good activities that can replace that warm and wonderful high I used to get from drinking. So far, meditation helps with the stress.

I am wondering if anyone can recommend activities that can replace the booze high.

    Thanks

Nothing replaces the quick and easy "booze high." Also, nothing can replace the long-lasting booze hangovers and destroyed lives and relationships!

A big part of recovery is learning to stop looking for, hoping for, or expecting quick feel-good replacements, and to say good-by to all the quick fixes.

What replaces alcohol, if we are successful, is the slower "fixes," the stuff that takes some time to enjoy and appreciate. The feeling of accomplishment that comes only from having done something difficult and worthwhile, for example...

Speed walks or a jog....endorphines and fresh air are the best!!
Sometimes I wonder...."Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me.

but, seriously. We started to concentrate on projects..and more importantly he is now thinking about projects around the vacation home, he has become involved with it and also Holiday projects.. things to keep his and my mind off the bad times. He makes weekend plans and we treat ourselves to dinners out. The key is we are planning things together now, replacing his Vodka highs we our own.

What Feel-Good Activities Can Replace Drinking?

Life instead of alcohol. that says it all. What is life? Sex, Friends, family, creative release, self esteem. Being in love, getting away from the downers. I am not one to talk lately, but I remember a time when I had an affair that was so exciting that it overtook EVERYTHING negative and it helped me get through and be a better person for everyone around me.
