    Time flies

    It was the birth of my first grandchild that prompted me to try and get a grip of my outrageous drinking problem. That was two years ago today.
    Since then, such a lot has happened, including the birth of a second grandchild, and I can't believe how quickly the time has passed.
    I am at the lowest point of my life right now, but I am determined to get myself out of the total mess I am in, and make myself a man that my children and grandchildren can be proud of.
    As of today, I am a non-drinker. I had a long period of abstainance last year, so I know that I can do it, I just need a little help from the good people here.

Great to see u again...I often wonder what you r up to these days.....sounds like you are having a rough time...i am so sorry to hear that...You are a strong, fantastic man.....so come on...pick yourself up and dust off...you non-drinker you!               How weird is that, I was just thinking of you yesterday and wondering why I hadn't seen you around here lately. I'm sad to hear you are going through a tough time. But, you sound ready and determined to turn it around. You've helped so many of us, we will be happy to return the favor in any way possible.

                    I don't really know you, but hope to in your new quest. The past is the past. Learn from it. Today is what you make of it, and you sound and seem to be the sort who has the power to make it work, and you know it is work. You are making the memories for your children and grandchildren, and that's important, but your life is more important still. I'm happy to meet you, hoping to get to know you and learn from you, willing to walk this path with you.

                      Popeye, I firmly believe that time speeds up as we get older, and if we aren't careful we wake up one day full of regret for the parts of our lives that we miss because of drinking.

                      What I've learned is that it is never too late to start over; never too late to take back your life and rewrite your future. Let go of any regret that you have - it does you no good now - and start living the life that you want to live.
