I've always wanted to keep chickens. This year is it. My maternal (fav) grandmother's nickname was 'Chit' because one of her g'children couldn't say chicken, and she always had a yard full of them. Won"t go into everything we did with them. Will start my pen tomorrow!

Cinders - None of my eggs go waste either, they are too good. I can't eat the ones from the stores, they have a different taste to them and they don't look the same as fresh. Plus, the hens eat all my leftover veggies and peelings. They're great for that as well!

Better than sleeping bags! I've got 2 extra BR's at home and 2 at the cabin. Cabin has all the trout you can catch & eat!

I LOVE having lots of land and privacy. Only 4 1/2 acres in mountains, but they sell it there in lots, so I'm happy.

Richs drinking doesnt usually bother me either. Just the last couple of weeks I have had "urges" shall we say. But I wont go there

OK, I got the new toilet. Very nice toilet. BUT... I have a kitty who likes to jump onto the toilet, and from there onto the sink, so he can get a drink of water out of the glass by the sink (I keep a separate glass for me... he has his own glass... yes, I know it's crazy). Or he just likes to sit on the sink while I'm taking a bath. Anyhow yesterday I heard kind of a crash toward the back of the house... in the bathroom, the little rug was shoved up against the wall, and the toilet seat and lid were soaking wet. Cat: nowhere to be found. Apparently the new seat surface is pretty slick and.... he jumped up and slid on in... poor little guy won't even come IN the bathroom today. And so he is forced to drink water out of the big bowl in the kitchen that the dogs (and the other cat) use... Poor little guy...

Have you recently moved there Gia?
I stayed in Canada (thats where you are isnt it?) a few years ago. Place called Haliburton. I adored it! we even looked into emigrating for a while

It is very hard to run in a wet duffle coat I tell you. I am going to start my training today. If there is going to be quite a few of us we will need to think about the accomodation - should we stay in city centre or wha?. Well we got plenty of time to organise that side of things.
I will be there for a month at least so if anyone wants to come to Galway for a few days afterwards that'd be cool.
