    Army Thread 14th November 2008

    Morning everyone,

Wow, thank goodness its Friday! Last night I fell asleep about 8.30 and slept all the way through....was lovely...

Going to ask boss if I can just work 3 days a week for the time being then I can get my marathon training schedule underway. There are some things in life that are just so much more important than work. lol

Anyway as is the norm these days I am running late. Again.

Hope all are well and positive today.

    Catch you later
    Love Starts

Do you know what Starts...Your not wrong...I have worked nearly every day since i left school...I had 3 jobs at one point...
When i went sober nearly 3 weeks ago My wife and i decided i would come out of work and Lisa would get a morning job so i could do this properly..
Life does go by so fast when your in a routine of work drink sleep work drink sleep..The last couple of weeks have been tough dont get me wrong but being able to do things at my own pace..Spending time with my family...For example i woke my kids up this morning and the last few weeks with a cup of tea and breckfast by the fire..Just little things like that make the world of difference to them and me..
I think the messege is...You gotta stop and smell the roses sometimes
I don't care who you are...Your not walking on water while i'm fishing..
One drink is too many... A thousand is never enough...Sober since July 2nd 2009

      Hi guys
Macks you are doing so well. Three weeks what a feat and you seem so upbeat too which is fantastic. I just get the warm fuzzies when I see people doing well.
Oney isnt wob a bit old for a sleep over with his mates? Is there something he is not telling you do you think! Or do you care? Recently when my husband was getting dolled up to go out for the night - I said dont hold back on my account and he said dont worry I dont!
Well I am off to bed shortly and strangely enough I am looking forward to my run in the morning. Have a great day all to come. By the way any word from the vodka lad. She might do the run with us too maybe.

Hi Starting, Macks, O2 and all to come,

Quick hello and a HAPPY FRIDAY to everyone before I get stuck into the day to day.

Just wanted to say thank you also for all the inspirational threads and posts lately. The last few days in particular looking at this site has really helped me focus on what I want and what I need to do to achieve it. I know I have been on and off here since March, sometimes doing well and sometimes not, and the pattern has continued, I havne't posted often and feel bad that I did not really support anyone else, including new people but I was not in a place too. Sometimes posted under the influence too so god only knows what I wrote half the time.

So this week ends all of that cycle for good - have been AF really since last week but did have two sips out of a glass of wine on Monday night before I threw it down the sink - so still kind of considered myself to be AF but my official start date is Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 not that I am really arguing about that!

        Have a good day all!
        xx

            good morning all.
Macks...I couldn't agree with you more mate. Have worked non stop for the last 10 years, working more than 50 hrs most weeks and split shifts for 8 years straight. It's time for me to have my first work and stress free crimbo and I'm really looking forward to it. Christmas is always the worst time of year work wise and it will be so nice to get to Christmas day without wanting to collapse for a week. It's time for a me Christmas and I hope a sober one. We can do it mack!
Hope everyone has a great day.

Cy...Just imagine the Christmas dinner you could create sober on Christmas Day...This will be my first sober one as an adult aswell...I know it is going to be easier being dived on at 5am and dragged downstairs by the hair from the kids without a hangover..I might be waking them up for a change..

Another busy day on tap today. Krigs gets to ATL tomorrow! Hope everyone is doing well, up for the weekend. How's your Mum healing, Oney. For myself, I'd truly love a few days of non-drama around me. Need a serenity spa. Hope to do some healing at the cabin, alone, sleeping in, painting. Oh well, we take what life throws at us, and either bounce it off or break. Have a great day, everyone!
