Well, I live reading and writing too, so the nights Wob does not go to the Gym I will go for some solace in the library and check out their courses and clubs too...
You and Wobbie should talk and set up a schedule. It's only fair you have time OUT of the house regularly to keep you from cracking up completely! LOL (REMINDER: Confucious say: Girl who stand on head has crack up!)

For stuff that will help with a recovery program, I'd recommend "Emotional Alchemy," and everything that is on my list on this website.

For alkie memoirs, my favorite is "Dry."

                      Hi Everyone,
I think the Library idea is wonderful, Oney! They are always pleasant, peaceful places and you will indeed get that time alone that you need so deperately. Maybe you can start (and finish) your first novel!!!
Gia and Macks, I'm happy for you both getting this "special time" with your children- away from work for a bit. It's good for the soul to get that extra connection with the kids.
Starts, Since you'll be working 3 days a week, that will give you more time to participate in our First Annual MWO Christmas Extravaganza!!
Rubes, I'm just about there with you. Yeah!
Cy, Your Christmas sound nice and intimate; I think you will want to do it the same way every year after this one. A sober Christmas for us all will make it so much more memorable and we can really concentrate on the meaning Christmas has for us.
WIP- If you have a tough time at Chirstmas, maybe this is the year you begin to turn that around? There is nothing written that says that Christmas has to be a "downer" time of year for you for the rest of your life. Only you can work on making that happen. Sorry to harp, Wip.
Limers, Do you eat cottage cheese every day as your weight loss program? Just wondering.
Hi to Capt- How is your neck of the woods today?

Thanks, Kriger, and... nor is there anything written that Christmas HAS to be a jolly good and special time; and I don't mean that harshly AT ALL... but only to say that one of the things about Christmas that bugs me is that I am being told (by merchants etc.) how I am SUPPOSED to feel. And I am given constant reminders that "family" is supposed to mean "closeness and joy." For those of us who just can't relate to that, I think it's enough just to get through it without being miserable! "Turning it around" into something happy is a bit too much to ask or expect.

Maybe some day it will be a happier time for you WIP. I have tried really hard, the last few years especially, trying to get all the commercialism out of my Christmas experience. I just use it as a time to be grateful for all the blessings I have in life. I have made it more into a "spiritual time" for me....personal to just me. We have beautiful mountains just a stones throw away...on Christmas Day it is fun to drive up into the mountains and experience their beauty. We sometimes sit in a ski lodge drinking a bit (this year it will be hot choc for me). Krigs

Yes, Krigs, I agree with that... and I cannot "get away" to do anything like that, during "Christmas season" while my mother is still alive and still understands that it is Christmas, because it means a lot to her. I have given that time period to her my whole life, and could not live with myself if I did not do so. Yesterday she started talking about Christmas... So, here we go, again...
