I second beaches. We all have been askin for this in one form or anther for quite some time now. I say take a seat and a big breath and just give it a try. What is there to lose?

Obviously something needed to be done, things were getting pretty out of hand and people were leaving the site. Not to mention scaring off the newbies? But I absolutely agree that we should be advised who these moderators are. Why keep it a secret?

Someone said it earlier, I believe. Moderators would likely feel unable to post about their own issues and needs if others knew they were moderators.

Personally I don't want to know who the moderators are as it could influence how I would post in one of their threads. That said, they are not going to be secret police who will come knocking on your door at midnight. I also think RJ is a pretty good judge of character and she will not use anyone who may make the situation worse.
Trust her.

I agree, I trust RJ in her choice or Moderators. People who will be watching, like the other sites, if someone really steps out of line. Isn't that what we all want? Honestly on other sites I go to I have no idea who the Moderators are and don't care.

It doesn't matter WHO it is.
They are appointed by RJ, and thereby acting on her behalf.
RJ is ultimately the one editing or deleting.

On the other sites I am on the moderators are not members seeking support themselves. They are like RJ...have YEARS of sobriety...I am assuming these moderators would be the same? They do not have friendships on the site, so they can make unbiased decisions.

What if one of the "moderators" slips, gets pissed, and does something stupid? God knows, we've all been there. They are suffering from the same addictions we are. Who will moderate the moderators?
