    Army Thread 19th December 2008

    Morning Folks..
It really is far too early for me to be up in my new role as lazy git...but for some reason I cannot sleep today and 2 coffees in, any more is unlikely...so in the usual tradition I thought I would say hi to all of you...

TFI friday today and I have all but finished my Chrissy shopping..just one more to get and i am done and actually Rich can get that one! So, yes I am done...no more shops for me for a while...My cards are still lying in a heap on the table so maybe I could put those up....hmmm ...tomorrow...

For Spanky - I posted this on the other thread but in case you miss it...
Hey Spanks! Good to see you here and sounding so great too!
A yogurt pot is a plastic pot that Larry (My Border Collie) likes to clean out every last bit and then take the container apart....you do have yogurt over there dont you?????
Yep, headache went and I had a fab day thanks! I will get a windfall too, I have lost my job and I will get a golden handshake!!! Wow, I hadnt thought of the dream meaning that!! Thanks!!

I am probably only going to go to work until lunchtime today, bosses are out and is completely pointless, I am going to start clearing my desk in the hope that it will chivvy them on to give me a leaving date...I dont think they like the idea much that I am so happy to go but never mind...we all have to move on..I have had many a happy time there, been there for 13 years in various jobs, have travelled and learnt a lot, but over the last few years the company has changed, there is so much more stress there and it is not the happy place it used to be. I am grateful that I had the chance to work there but now I am ready to leave...my new sobriety has given me the confidence and urge to try something new..2009 is going to be very exciting for me...I hope

Anyway, enough ramblings from this insomniac...
Have a wonderful day everyone and see you later...
    xxx

LOL STARTS!!! I take it you read my post on tlrgs thread?!?!? Yes, I visited my daughter at the government office this morning, Helen clock-watched and threw contemptuous sidelong glances which I intercepted with HUGE dripping sugary-sweet smiles! It is OK - I think it was a chance for me to type all those naughty words that MWO usually frowns on!!! Loved it!!!

Mary Rose was AWESOME, thank you. She is a kind, sweet girl - she loves me and I her, even though we have not seen each other since January, our reunion was very very GOOD! Yes, re the AA...I made a "conscious decision" to do 90 meetings in 90 days, about 5 weeks ago. Best decision I have ever made. If I put 1/100 of the effort into AA and my recovery as I put into my drinking, then I am sure to succeed. The thing that is important though, starts, is that I LOVE AA. I do not see meetings as boring, or compulsory...for me and the members in my groups it is fun, and compassionate, and educational and social and SOBER!!!! It is WELL WORTH A TRY!!!

Thats great to hear Kapo! Its really working for you isnt it?
Gives me inspiration to give it a go....I am a little reluctant cos the bloke who lives up our road goes, we live in a tiny village and well...you can imagine....
I am absolutely delighted to hear that MR was doing great! That must be the best Chrissy pressie in the world!

Indeed it is best CHrissy Pres, Starts,....Hey - I live in really small town too. And I know what you mean about other personalities. One of the AA traditions (12th) states that we place "principles before personalities" - I have to remember that A LOT!!!! There are a few members in my town whom I'd rather not share this earth with, but I was told by my dear AA friend, "I have EARNED my seat!!" And I sure have. AND when I count the number of members whose personalities I LOVE compared with those who don't quite turn me on so much (!!!), well the positive FAR outweighs the neg! For me AA is about attraction, not promotion, Starty, so I won't bang on about it here, but IT WORKS for me ay x
