Many thanks to everyone on this thread (and the other one, too, the one DG started!), and here at MWO.
I had 3 good years AF once, a while back, and then I spent a long and unhappy time in relapse mode (with a few periods of sobriety thrown in).
Two things put me into, and kept me in, relapse mode: lack of support for an AF life (I quit AA); and distorted thinking about alcohol (believing/hoping I could drink without destroying everything that truly matters to me). MWO helped me to get past both of those problems; I found a lot of people here who are enormously supportive of the AF life, and knowledgeable about how to get and stay here; and I find ways here, every day, to keep my thinking about alcohol in the zone of sanity (for myself).
Thanks to all. I hope I can give back at least as much as I have been given here.
