Hi WIP and Limers
Emylee bought me some New England Patriots scrubs to wear to work, New England Patriots earrings and an ornament with the, you guessed it. New England Patriots. She also bought me a mini digital camera, which I have no idea how to use, some perfume and makeup, candy. She stuffed my stocking herself. Why can't my boys be so loving and generous? Patrick gave me the usual "nothing". Christopher gave me a nice picture frame so that I can frame the nice pic he gave me of the Boston Red Sox's closing pitcher Jonathan Papelbon. He gave me the pic for my birthday back in October. You would like him Oney. He is a hottie."Decide-Which Voice in Your Head you Can Keep Alive" (Shinedown)

Have you heard of "From Panic to Power" by Lucinda Bassett?
Starts, "Mindful Way Through Depression" is by Mark Williams. It includes a CD with recordings of guided meditations by my teacher, Jon Kabat-Zinn...
Thanks, thanks, thanks for changing your avatar!!!

I used to go to group therapy for anxiety/depression and we used a book called "The Feeling Good HandbooK" by David Burns. I found it to be most helpful. Have you ever heard of it WIP? It was back in the 90's"Decide-Which Voice in Your Head you Can Keep Alive" (Shinedown)

The books I am recommending (and the clinical work I do) are based on more recent research on what is being called "Third-Wave Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies." In this kind of work, we recognize the power of our thought patterns in influencing mood and behavior, and we teach people to notice, gently detach from, and compassionately observe, some of the dysfunctional and distorted thoughts, without trying to change them in any way. It is now believed by many scientists that the effort to "restructure" our thinking is not particularly helpful (or, as I would argue, it is essentially impossible, because the brain just doesn't work that way).
