Good morning all! Thank God it's 2009!!!! Jeez Loueeez what a year was '08.... wheewwwwww!

I have been reading about the Wii thingies and was thinking that MAYBE I kind of wanted one... have resisted... but last night I went over to spend the evening with a family and played some Wii games with the 10-year-old daughter (smartest kid I have ever met, she has written 2 novels and plays violin in an orchestra!)... and I had SO much fun! That thing is amazing... Only thing is, there are all kinds of boxes that you have to have hooked up to the TV, and controllers and so on... not totally sure I want to have all the clutter... am trying SO hard to be de-cluttered and simplified. Oh well.

Need to start my black-eyed peas pretty soon, will take some over to Mother around lunch-time... ahhh well. Must be done. Maybe it will be not such a tough visit.

New motto: All positive, all the time. Or at least.... keep a lid on the negative stuff!!!

Sounds interesting, yeah, the yoga thing... these folks I visited last night did not have the "fit" software, they said it's hard to get right now... but that's what I would want, too... I think.

Just not sure if I want any more electronics, any more of these durn boxes... I am in more of a "getting rid of stuff" trajectory in my life, right now... Going through all my mother's stuff has me feeling smothered by THINGS...!

Yeah and of course especially if you have kids! We had an interesting discussion over dinner... the 92 year old grandfather (retired judge), the middle-aged folks, and the 10-yr-old girl, talking about the benefits and drawbacks of having kids pretending to play games like tennis or bowling, instead of really doing it. The daughter, Rosie, was passionately in favor of the Wii, of course... and since she is (really!) a novelist, she is also a strong believer in fantasy, fantasizing, pretending-type stuff. It was really pretty interesting to listen to her perspective...

I had a great time with Hanna! She made a picture of herself and spelled her name on it all by herself. And she gave me an empty turtle shell as a present! How special is that...LOL!!
