When I lived in California, we took the kids and the dogs to the ocean nearly every weekend. They all loved it! One year we spent Easter Sunday there and played volleyball with another family. And we flew kites instead of hunting for Easter eggs...LOL!!

When you realise that giving up meat is the easiest thing in the world- we are only energy- the pig is only energy- do you really want to take in all that bad negative energy?
Not meaning to give a lecture here, and certainly not to you, but to me it is obviously not a great thing to eat??

So... as to "taking in bad negative energy... " I am not so sure that I am doing a whole lot of that, by my dietary choices; I am more convinced that the "bad negative energy" in my life is mostly generated by my own negative, distorted thinking, and by my failures to be consistently compassionate to everyone and everything I encounter (including the animals and plants that die, so that I can live for a while).
I do absolutely respect and appreciate your point of view, and your choice to not eat meat...

Thanks WIP, I appreciate very much (as usual) hearing your point of view!
I appreciate it is a very personal choice, but am very glad I made it 18 years ago or there abouts and have never looked back.
I certainly think it is the main reason I look 10 years younger than my peers inspite of my drinking.
Obviously it is a decision one makes at whatever time in life , and probably not something to talk about here
Love to you WIP and everybody else- gonna haul my veggie arse of to bed now))

Night, Marbs... Hi Limers, and I sure am glad I don't have to put shoes and clothes on my dogs and cats! Yikes! Sounds like a nightmare, to me! I don't know how y'all do it... if they were mine, they would be running around in un-ironed clothes (as I do), I'm afraid...
LTG, my black-eyed peas turned out great; my mother insisted that everyone at her house get some, so I put a dollop on all their plates. None of them had the slightest idea what it was, however... Jeez, it is SO sad to be around a bunch of people with dementia. BUT that visit is over, and Mother had her black-eyed peas, and she's safe and warm and clean and fed. She's as happy as she can possibly be, under the circumstances. She was not nearly as distressed, confused, etc., as she was on Christmas day. And I am home, thank God.

They are a type of bean, Oney. They are really tasty!!! Hard to say what they taste "like," because the taste is unique, I guess... It's traditional in the southern USA to eat them on New Year's Day, cooked with ham, and onions, and rice. Often, with cornbread. And lots of us like some Tabasco sauce on top (it's a red pepper and vinegar sauce made in Louisiana)!
