              Sounds good...

              LTG,
Got myself a similar Dell unit for Christmas. I forget what is available, but be sure to get the best audio built in that you can afford. I didn't realize that I chose the more economical (this is my first laptop) of what was offered and I am disappointed in the sound quality. I end up using earphones for things I REALLY want to hear. Just a thought. It's quite an investment.

                    Dell 1525 because...

For a limited time they offered Windows XP instead of Vista in certain models.
I got my daughter a WorkPro (Apple) and now I wish I'd spent a few more dollars on myself!!

Startingover:You don't want to be carrying around speakers for a laptop, probably. It defeats the whole purpose of portability, no? In a laptop, the speakers are built in and tend to sound "tinny", Get the best they offer,IMO.

Oops, missed the "laptop" bit...I have a dell (pc) and the speakers that came with it were pretty rubbish, got some decent ones and all was well thankfully

                          Speaking of daughter..

I got out of going shopping on the condition that I have some food ready when they returned. I'm off to check out the leftovers in the fridge!

I'm happy with the speakers on my MacBook, so far as quality is concerned (much better than any of my PC laptops!), but the volume will not crank up quite as high as I would like.
