Good morning, all... Oney, sorry to hear you had a difficult response to that video. Not surprising, I guess. We do tend to bury some of the painful childhood stuff.... and now that your father is sober, and you have a whole different relationship with him, it's probably easier just to pretend that the awful stuff never happened. But it sounds as if you had a great day, before that!

I'm doing a lot of clearing out of clutter... still! You'd think, the way I talk about it, that I lived in one of those massively cluttered places you see pictures of! It really wasn't that bad... but I have become super-sensitive to ANY clutter and old stuff that just stays and stays, never being used or even looked at... after doing all the clearing out of my mother's stuff, I don't want any part of it in my own house and life! I have an office here at the house where I do most of my work, and it was the worst. I got a good start on it, yesterday. I need to get one of those commercial paper shredder companies to come out here and get rid of about a ton of old papers and records...

Cy... consider your butt gently kicked once more by me, and in the most encouraging way... I know that not working is a tremendous obstacle to staying AF because it is so feckin' hard to feel good about yourself. I had a lovely neighbor next door for years, a firefighter who stayed home with the kids because he had developed a seizure disorder, and was on disability. His wife is a firefighter, too. I loved that family... the husband just kept relapsing. He loved his work, couldn't do it any more, and just could not stop relapsing. Now they are divorced and moved away and he is FINALLY going to AA meetings... after losing his lovely house, and his family... You have to FIGHT your way out of this situation, Cy!

This de-clutter process is taking forever for me too! But we've combined 2 families here and have dups of everthing and 52 copies of my husband's military papers...LOL!!

Got the "clutterbug" here too. It just never ends; especially with my kids bringing more and more video systems into the house; wires everywhere that I don't dare touch. God forbid I disconnect the wrong thing.lol.

LTG, living alone is a great blessing in that regard, I get to be the sole "Decider" about what stays and what goes! I would have a very hard time being quiet about someone keeping multiple copies of pieces of paper! I am still keeping some of Mother's stuff that was important to her, or that could/should eventually be sold to collectors... but it's all boxed away neatly and carefully.

BTW, good for you, all of you soon-to-be non-smokers! I think it would be great if you banded together on a thread to support each other! I am so glad I quit those damn things... and I quit before it got to where people had to go outside and huddle in doorways to smoke, now I look at people doing that and feel so sad for them... and also because they are so incredibly expensive now... So there are a lot of reasons that it will feel so great when you get the cigarettes gone out of your lives!

My husband is so hard wired too...LOL!! He has got to go wireless. All that shit collects all the pet hair too. And I have got to condense all the gear and toys for the grandkids. Look like a day care center around here...LOL!!

Just waking up. The earliest I woke up in a while. Will try to put a major dent in finishing the organization thing. Have to work on 2 menus for events this month and will excercise one way or another. I am so sick of this cold rainy weather.

Hiya everyone,
What a day! I overslept, then was so busy at work trying to get things done so I can leave. Boss is making things difficult for me at the moment so its not very pleasant. Never mind, I'll be out of there soon.
Decluttering? Yep, one of my first jobs I think as soon as I have a bit of free time.
Oney, I hope the funeral went OK, never easy are they....
Cy, Wishy, I hope you are both feeling a little brighter now...

Got to finish my essay tonight so its going to be a busy evening too. Well I finished it but had my final tutorial last night and tutor made some recommendations to improve it...He did say it was good though!!! Yay!
