    Changes, motivation to stop

I am writting this for when the demon comes whispering sweet nothings.

Things that I have noticed after a few days AF.

    my energy level is up
    my concentration is better
    my mood lifts
my weight goes down, even though I eat more
    my appetite improves
my sleep is deeper and more refreshing
    my dogs get more walks
    I start making plans
    I start getting pro active
    my optimism increases
    my sense of humour returns
    my interest level increases
    I am more organised
I spend more time with friends and children

    Please add your own observations.

Those are great motivators, V! A few of my own:

I stopped feeling hopelessness and despair
    I stopped thinking about suicide
I was able to cope with doing emotionally difficult things
    I enjoy sleeping
I began to feel spiritually engaged again

What a great thread V. Sounds like you're doing real fine!!!

I wake up without a hangover!!!
I got a huge appetite for life!
I am a better father and husband!!
I am better company. (in addition to all the above mentioned by you.)

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

        calmer
        inner peace
        no remorse or guilt
        clearer skin
        not on edge
        fun to be around
        less procrastination
