How come, Kriger? What are the advantages of Georgia over Florida, for you (you can tell I am thinking about moving to Florida, eh?)?

My son's family with my two granddaughters live in Atlanta, WIP. That is where my heartstrings are calling me. If I moved to FL I would want to be somewhere near Mom and Dad but hubby like a metro area, so that would mean Orlando.....I don't care much for Orlando."People usually fail when they are on the verge of success. ahh, that makes sense... I don't like Orlando, either, and that's the biggest "negative" that's in my mind, about moving to the house in Sanford. It's weird because Sanford is small-town, old-Florida, but... VERY close to Orlando, at this point everything is practically a suburb of Orlando (and I HATE Disney and everything Disney)... Orlando is not the kind of city I really want to be near... I'd much rather be near a city with a university, or Jacksonville, or (maybe) Miami, or even Tampa... But I already have that house, and it's right there on the lake....

There are SOOO many lakes in central and north central Florida. It makes me feel serene in many ways and Real Estate is so much lower in price!"People usually fail when they are on the verge of success. So give as much care to the end as to the beginning." Lao-Tzu

My house is over to the left, at the end of this quiet little road, facing the lake... :

WIP, don't you love sunrise and sunset sitting in front of those lakes with the fog or just dew in the air?
LTG, How about Cocoa Beach or somewhere near there?"People usually fail when they are on the verge of success. So give as much care to the end as to the beginning." Lao-Tzu

Yes, it is, LTG... very quiet... although these days, I guess in the summer there are those awful wave-runner things, and some of the loud, faster boats, on the lake (when I was a kid, it was REALLY quiet!); but... no public docks within about 2 miles.... so, relatively very quiet. And it isn't a huge recreational lake, fortunately. We get a bunch of old guys, sometimes whole families, fishing with cane poles out on the sea wall... which some of the neighbors hate, but it's fine with me... I have a double lot, so the back yard gives me a lot of space, away from the neighbors...
