I think this summer will be a good time frame. There are many government job postings for Florida - like 3,100. There's bound to be something husbo can qualify for. First step will be getting this house ready to market, which I need to de-clutter anyhow...LOL!!

Hi all. Had a lovely day with the children. went down the park for a nice long walk and looking at the trees and river and seeing erin riding her bike made me feel....im not sure!....gratefull maybe for what ive got and what ive had and done in my life, minus the booze. Made me feel like a child again for a minute...being at home in the country. It made me think that life isnt that bad, and i shouldnt get down on myself all the time.
Anyways, that prob makes no sense and i have to pop out for a bit, so speak to you all later. xx

Good morning, all... Starts, I have some idea what you are feeling... we want our mothers not to give up, we want them to be happy and at their best. It's really hard for us to see them "letting go" of things they once loved... I had an interesting talk with a friend who took care of her own mother during her mother's years with Alzheimer's... she knows a lot about this stuff... she told me that elderly folks, especially if they have dementia, often have a different relationship with their dogs... or, rather, their dogs seem to lose interest in their elderly owners, as if they know that the person has fundamentally changed. That happened with my mother and her dog.... when I used to take him to visit her, he showed no interest at all in her. It was actually quite weird... I don't take him any more, and she usually doesn't ask about him... And yes, it is painful to watch... I don't know if your mother has any signs of dementia, probably it happens with all sorts of symptoms of aging...

I had a difficult day yesterday... an infected cyst, a huge hassle getting my doctor's office to give me a prescription for an antibiotic, and an afternoon spent first in court, then visiting Mother. But I got my meds, and fixed myself a nice dinner.... feeling better today...

Oney... hope you have a nice evening... When do you get some time to yourself, with Wob staying at home with the kids?????

Hi Wip ... sorry to hear you had a bad day yesterday. Hope today is better for you.

LTG ... Living by the Ocean sounds so good. Really hope it works out for you. Get De-cluttering Girlie!!!

I'm having half an hour of "me" time as the baby has just gone home and Cy and Erin have gone into town. Been a very busy day so this is much welcome "me" time. Nice hot soak in the bath later then snuggle up and watch a film with Cy. Perfect!!

                        Hiya Wippy,
No mum isnt suffering from dementia, but although she says she doesnt, I think she feels hurt and sad about Fudge..and that makes me hurt and sad...hard isnt it?
But is interesting to hear a similar thing happened with your mother....makes me glad I dont have children in a way though...

Your day yesterday sounds tough! So much better sober though isnt it?
So glad you're feeling better today.

I do love my me time. It is a must in staying positive for me. Even if it's just having a nice bath or chilling infront of the tele, makes me feel so much better.
