Cravings, what are they exactly??

i know ive probably missed something but can anyone describe what a 'craving' actually feels like?? i do have moments where i really could enjoy a glass of wine in my head but i dont have a physical reaction?? i also have moments when i could really enjoy chocolate and think about it but again nothing physical? is this perhaps the reason for why i feel no difference when taking kudzu??
