I just tried to call Sea again. Went straight to voicemail. I take that as a good sign that she is seeking medical care to flush that Chantix out of her system. She has my # and I will wait for her to call until the AM, then ring her again. Let me say one thing here about her post earlier. If she really wanted to take her life, she would have. She would not go to a forum to discuss it. It was a cry for help and support from a lonely person. I think she just needs to feel the love, which she did as I read her posts from y'all. I hope that helps ease the tension for now.

Hi Cso4,
Not sure myself of the situation with Sea as i logged on later today after it all happened. LTG would be in a better position to fill you in as I know she spoke to her earlier today on the phone. Apparently it is to do with the medication, chantrix, that she was taking for giving up smoking, but she was advised by LTG to seek medical help which I think she did.

2 voicemails to Sea. Still waiting to hear back. I advised MD attention at the time. Very scary with the Chantix and other meds. Will keep y'all posted.

Bandit, I think a lot of people are speculating that Chantix might have played a role in what Sea was experiencing today... and maybe it did... but it's really impossible to say, about something like that. It's like the speculation about some antidepressant medications possibly contributing to suicidal ideation... impossible really to say, because so many other variables are involved... I just don't want people to get scared away from a drug that has apparently been very helpful to a lot of people...

I am thinking about Sea, too, and hoping she's doing a whole lot better by now (evening in the USA)...

Agree WIP, and I even spelt it wrong, Chantix not Chantrix, which just shows how information flows sometimes and often incorrectly. Yes, there are too many variables to be able to judge what one particular drug may cause and I have no idea what studies (including watching for external variables) have been done on Chantix but i assume that nothing like that would be prescribed without extreme caution. Anyway, I hope Sea is well and it did seem unusual for her to post anything like that considering her posts lately so not sure what is going on.. being honest my first reaction (and I did read it later in the day) was that someone else was messing and posted it for her (like a child being annoyed) but obviously I was wrong and it was more serious than that.
