    I slipped

    Hi all,

    I went for a date tonight. I have ordered small beer as i am on Antabuse. I drank it for about 2h. The girl is not a big drinker as well, she had a glass of wine and it took her 2h to finish it as well. So that was ok. I did not have any side effects from antabuse. I take a small dose and im sure i can drink a beer or 2 while on it.(No more than that!!! I have tested it already).
    So it was a very good date, we had a great time. I walked her home and even though i believe she wanted me to go to her place i did not ask. I know, i am a chicken. I must tell you dating sober is completely new experience for me. It is soooo weird.

    I went home very upset with myself that i did not make any move. She is probably disapointed now. I did not smoke for 6 days. I was so angry that i light up a ciggie. I had 3 puffs and i throw it away. Now i am super upset that i had this 3 puffs and what is more worrying this 3 puffs were really enjoyable.
    I think i should not date while im quitting smoking, too much tension

    Hay Network.....don't worry about Bustin a move the other night, call her up take her out again.....Man times sure have changed, I can remember when ladies respected you when you did.nt try to man handle them on the first date. Ha! As far as smoking......Take care of one Demon at a time, get yourself right with drinking and then tackle the ciggs. Take care, don't beat yourself up so bad. IAD.

      thanks for the post. I did exactly what you said. I think i am ok with drinking now, thats why i quit smoking. I wouldn't be able to do tackle two demons at the same time. I know i can beat smoking and i will.

            You are and you have, mate! You threw it out after 3 puffs! You didn't slip... you dealt with a new situation in perhaps not THE best way. That's all.

            You're doing awesome and you will continue to do awesome. Call the girlie - contrary to popular belief... we do still kinda appreciate not getting mauled on the first date! Hey, Mr. Wonderful kept like a 2ft distance at all times on our first date... I thought my deodorant had failed!

                Speaking as a lady myself, it would not put me off at all if the dude didn't make a move on the first date. What would put me off, however, was if he came off too strong and pushy. As long as you call her (wait one day I think), all is well!

                  Like WTF? It was your first date right? Then just chill baby. I know that if the guy assumed to have me in bed on the first date - then that would put me off. Just sayin'.

                    Skinny cow i will do exactly what you are saying. I wil wait one day and give her a call.
                    The good thing is i did not get drunk and i did not make a complete fool of myself.

                      HAHA. AFM i know what you are saying, but i could feel she wanted me to come to her place. That changes a lot.I can deal with it. What i am trying to say, im upset that i light up that God damn ciggie and it tasted great!

                        Trying to understand how you are dealing with al. Antabuse is meant to be used to not drink at all. If you have experimented with how much you can drink while taking it it doesn't seem like you have committed to being AF.

                            i did experiement with Antabuse cos i wanted to know how much i can drink during social situations. (i.e. dates) like today. I went for a date and i knew i can have one drink. If you don't drink, people tend to ask too many questions. I am very glad i know i can have one beer although i do not even enjoy it. To be honest i did not even wanted to drink that beer, cos i am quitting smoking.
                            I really hope someone out there knows what i am talking about
