ARMY Thread Tuesday 20th January 2009

    Morning/evening all
Hope nobody minds me starting the thread even though Tuesday is almost over in this part of the world. Just wanted to let you know I had that interview today and I think it went well. If I get the job it means I can keep on my existing job as well. I have asked my present boss for more money to work less hours (less hours is his idea not mine) and he has agreed. So doing both could work out perfectly. They seemed to be almost offering me the job then and there but the HR woman intervened and said oh we have another person to interview and we will let you know by Friday. Fingers crossed that my investment in the new clothes and not to forget the $8.99 on the tweezers has paid off! I had to fill in a form when I got there and it asked if I smoked or had a drink/drug problem and I ticked No for both. I just had a tiny moment of proudness about that! If only they knew the old me. It wasn?t that long ago that there was no way I could have taken this job due to my binge drinking habit. But that was sooo last year!

This is what I would have said if i wasnt such a lazy arse and got up at a reasonable time!

        Good Morning Troopers!

        How are we today?
Positve? Relaxed? Ready to grasp this day and make it a good one?
        I hope so...
I know a number of you (including me) have been struggling lately, but somehow, together, we will and do get through...
A positive start to the day is vitally important. I know if I wake to a negative thought, it can colour my day a deep shade of grey...
So, I am sending you all lots of positve happy vibes...we all have plans, lets put them into action today OK?

See you later my dear friends xxx

Boozy, great to hear from you especially since you tamed those eyebrows!!! And I have everything crossed for you !

Jeez I knew that would happen. I was waiting for one of yous to post and then decided I better do it myself! Anyway hope you all had a good night sleep.
I did not mention to the prospective employer
          a) the drinking problem
          b) the fact that I have no idea how to do the actual job or
          c) that I am disappearing to ireland for June.

              Starts LOL
Yep very minor details and the trip is non negotiable! Still I better not count my chicks just yet!
Sorry to hear about people struggling. It must be so much harder in the doom and gloom of winter and especially in that after xmas/NY period which is always tough. It is so much easier to feel positive when the sun is shining and you could live off the smell of an oily rag in this country (and many do - not me unfortunately). Although on the flip side a hangover in the sunshine and heat is hell on earth.
I am sending positive vibes to you all.

Morning All. Well my getting up early didn't quite work out, it's now 9.20am and i'm only just getting up. Guess i'll have to get a move on. It's mad to think that a year ago today my sister had the baby. It was quite a traumatic time as she was born 7 weeks early and then spent two weeks in the specail care baby unit. Still she is fit and healthy and one year on she is just great, such an independant little thing who doesn't do cuddles!! LOL.

BH ... Good luck with the job, i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Starts ... What a lovely post, your right about the getting the plans into actions. Today i'm going to phone around the local hotels and look for a job.

                Oney ... Hows you today?

Hey there all! Good to see y'all! BH - when do you find out about job - ALL BEST MATE!
Limers - YOU are a bloody HUGE winner - I admire you SO VERY MUCH for getting back up and battling on....One of my favourite mottos as a "recidivist relapser" (many folk used to call me a "golden slipper" and BY SHITE that used to piss me off) is: "fall down seven times, get up eight"
Anyway it is 11pm here, been home from work for like 10 minutes. Am pretty shagged.
Jacob got 80 hours community service for the santa thing earlier today - the judge was pretty cool, all things considered, and I wrote a pretty fair letter on my boy's behalf...
ANYWAY - DAY OFF TOMORROW - YAY YAY YAY
Hi to Starts darl, and Wish and Cy and Oney and ALL x x

God, I reckon, Oners - and Hey - about the turning 40 thing - I HONESTLY thought I would hit mid-life crisis mode overnight - but ZIP happened - HONEST!!! It was actually OK! I didn't celebrate it, however - Vea had only been in jail 11 days, so I visited him as my birthday fell on a visiting day lol!! Quite memorable! So, don't fret in advance, darling Ones - 40 is OK - and that is coming from a gal who TOTALLY FREAKED at 30! X
