I was a trained in traditional psychotherapy since my college days, back in the early 1970s...
i used them in my practice for years with very limited positive results. The fact that we are MIND, BODY and SPIRIT seems to have been ignored. I then added more tools, like hypnotherapy and re birthing in the 80s. Things seem to be working better..then regression work helped even more. Now I see that even much of what i thought was successful was to long drawn out and didn't keep hold...in the long run. I find that is about creating the future..much more than reliving the past.
I am now a huge fan of Tole's book...THE POWER OF NOW...I don't agree with everything it says, but if I read a book and walk away with a like changing tool, it was well worth the read.sigpicEyes on the PRIZE, a SOBER Future !!!

I just read this thread from beginning to end and am so glad I did. Every time I fell like I'm the only one feeling like "what ever" it is bothering me I find a thread with others dealing with the same problems. I'm really not alone in all of this. Others have struggled just as I am and have succeeded.
I have 6 days AF and it seems to take all my energy to just get dressed, make dinner for hubby and stay sober. I've only left the house once in 2 weeks. I don't feel sad or bad just quilty that I don't want to do anything. I'm sure this must be part of the withdrawal. (and being Jan and cold and snowy doesn't help) Just feeling sorry for myself I guess.
I do know that I'm better today than I was 6 days ago!AF since 7/26/2009

Lilmea, I think it is pretty normal to want a time of withdrawl...you have been doing battle with a very tough opponent ...ALCOHOLISM is not for wimps and we can feel alittle battleworn...I know that is what has happened to me. It does get better with time...it really does.sigpicEyes on the PRIZE, a SOBER Future !!!

Candle has bit lit for all of the worn torn soldiers in the Army. One def one of you. Hardly been leaving the house. The Arctic chill that be are about to have descend upon us does not help. At least sis is dragging me out today and the Princess dragged me out to dinner last evening. She kind of mentioned, in a suttle way, that she is considering Narcotics Anonymous. Will keep ya posted. I told her that I would go with her."Decide-Which Voice in Your Head you Can Keep Alive" (Shinedown)
