Thanks y'all... Cy I still haven't made a start on how to deal with the windows.... I tried to find a place that would let me look at some different types of blinds and send someone out to give me estimates, yesterday, but I kept going to the wrong places. Now I am thinking of perhaps getting some folding Asian-style rice-paper screens to put in front of the sliding-glass doors... they can be out of the way in the day-time and then stretched out in front of the windows at night.... I really don't much like the standard vertical-type blinds that you pull across the windows... any ideas for me???

I am painting the walls a sort of tan/beige; the house itself, on the outside, will be a sort of deep cinnamon-red color, and the brick wall in the living room will also be that color of red.... (that is the wall you can see in the top picture).

The box on the wall in the lower picture is a built-in television cabinet that my grandparents put in! It is way too small for a standard-sized TV now... but it is very pretty wood and I can't bear to remove it; I am putting my music system in it... maybe will put a TV up on the wall above it....

Thanks Starts... yes it is a beautiful place... only 2 bedrooms, and 2 small bathrooms... but the location is fantastic, it sits on nearly an acre with huge trees out back, and the lake out front... very quiet neighborhood... I will post pics of my beloved cranes in a minute...
