Thats great CF, isnt being af so liberating? I know I was always rushing to get home from everything for the same reason. Now I do feel more relaxed..although not greatly fond of socialising really. I'm not sure if thats just me or if its because I'm not drinking. I think maybe its just me...
I have just bought a book on Macs and they do look pretty suberb and yes they are compatible with just abouit everything I understand

I'm going to be getting a Mac once I have some money, hubby has a new one - can't remember the model name, but everything is built into the monitor. I had one many years ago, in fact I still do, it's up in the attic but it's very old, an old LCIII!

                Hi All,
I think there is a common thread of isolationism going in here today. While I have stopped rushing home to drink, I still rush home to "get away". I do what I need to do when I need to do it but the environments that I am in are always "safe" ones for me (environments I feel comfortable in). Lately, I have been trying to expand that and put myself out to some new things to test the water and widen my world a bit. This is part of coming out of the active alcoholic stage. I don't thnk this comes easy or is automatic. We may say "this is just how we are' or we may not want anything to change in that arena, but I really want that part of me to change so I am taking really small baby steps in that direction. I know I will never become an extrovert but I do know that I want to become more involved with people in general....I want to enjoy social settings without anxiety and that IS slowly changing for me. I will always be somewhat quiet in social situations and talk when I have something to say but I want to be more comfortable doing it. That is what I am working on. I am definately "more comfortable in my own skin" since I stopped drinking and for that I am truly grateful....the journey never does really end, does it? I love and thank you all and I'm feeling really fine today, despite what I just rambled on about. GOOOO Sunday!!! What is everyone up to? Krigs

                  Hiya Krigs!
I agree with you, i think in reality I would like to be different, (I guess a reason I drank) I think maybe things will change for me when I start volunteering or working again...at the moment I am happy not seeing anyone in particular but I think I will get to the point where I need to. Even so, I will never be a social butterfly and I dont think I want to be, maybe just a little more comfortable in a variety of situations would do me.

Me too, Starts....just comfortable. No social butterfly for me either. Hows the Mac shop going? I can't use a Mac for my work so I'll have to stick to my pc until my company decides they can and will support Macs. Mine in now fast since I wiped it clean last week and started over....no more gunk for me. Krigs

Well, just started looking around today and bought a book to give me some tips..but my pc is weird! I installed avg and it scans daily...trouble is the scan takes hours and says it is scanning between 500000 and 700000 objects...well, I really dont know what they are, I think I either need to delete everything or get a new pc...did you lose pics and things?

I bought an external hard drive back before Christmas so all pics and docs are over there but now I have to find them. I did my pics on a separate upload and I can find them but the docs are bundled in this Restore Program. I don't want everything back because that is one of the reasons my speed went to pot but I do need to restore Outlook calendar and emails and the docs I need. I am in the learning process right now...

Hi All. I've had a very busy day, work was manic and didn't leave until late. The residents we had in obviously forgot the check out time was 11am and eventually checked out at 1.30pm!! This meant i had to rush to get the rooms ready for the next guests in half the time. Oh and the chickens kept there distance!!YAY!! I'm well and truly exhausted!! Back in work in the morning but off tuesday so it means i get a lie in.

                          How is everyone today?

Starts ... the mac pc looks so cool ... I WANT ONE!!!! Sooooooo jealous!!

Where is Oney today .... i sent her a pm earlier. Hope she is ok.

                          Hi Krigs and Vlad x

Hi again everyone, Back from an AA meeting, I go to the ones that have speakers only. Today I picked up my 30 day chip. And as I am very, very superstitious, there was a bright shiny penny on the floor, which I picked up. I have a window sill where I put my "lucky " pennies. These are for my non-craving alcohol. I really believe these things work, kind of like sending the positive energy out and it circles around back to me, or to whomever it is my wishes and hopes are directed towards.

                            STARTINGOVER:
Oh, let's see THE MAC I love:happyheart::happyheart::happyheart: my mac book pro. I choose it because it can travel around the house with me, and out of the house too. I have a cable that I can connect to my flat screen TV and it takes the mac screen and transmits it to the TV screen, giving me a very large screen to view for appropriate use. However, I have not been successful in getting anything more then my screen (can't think of the right language), well my screen with all my programs (the first screen I see when I turn on my computer) But it will work when I have a little help, guess I should just call support. Anyway, I think this is a great solution for a large screen and a lap top. You can also get a wireless keyboard. SO amazingly user friendly.
