Suzanne Somers is supposed to be on Oprah today, I believe talking about hormone therapy. I know nothing about this, but I know some MWOers are interested in and involved with bioidentical (?) hormones. Doggygirl, you're the expert on that, right? Anyway, it's on at 4 PM EST on ABC.

She's on in 45 minutes, I have been trying to catch her shows on HRT this month--I'm really interested in this. If I hadn't seen this I might have missed it. I guess the housework will keep for another hour.....or so. :h_______________

I had the opportunity to hear Suzanne Sommers present this information live a couple of years ago, her in Denver. Really good information! I noticed a huge difference when I started the bio-identical hormones!
Suzanne also has her husband on bio-identicals....they both look great! They radiate so much vitality!

You gotta love Suzanne Sommers! Well, the doctors and the pharmaceutical companies don't! I am going to pursue this HRT. I have a form filled out and ready to send the the nearest compounding pharmacy. It was amazing to see the difference in the lady that Robin McGraw took to her doctor. After 9 days she looks and feels like a totally new person! I don't expect those kind of results, but I am curious to know what's going on with me.
I also decided I would really like to work in a compounding pharmacy. When I was little I used to mix all kinds of powders and creams and put them on my dolls. Maybe Tough in Texas will give me a job!

Yeah, me too, Kit--AND I wish my husband was more like hers! Makes her smoothies every morning, cooks all those lovely veggies for her.....watches her take those 40+ vitamin/supps every morning.....Yowsa I thought I was bad!!!

great book
I read her book, now take progesterone and testosterone and human growth hormone(not any more though, toooooooo expensive and not covered by insurance that I know of) I wished I could have seen the show, will try to download it.
She is full of wonderful advice, and how great does she look!?

That it the problem with all the health stuff. The supplements line up on the kitchen counter for several feet. And it does get expensive. Oh well, back to the pill parade and my giant glass of juice......almost got um all choked down.Comment

I really wanted to watch it, but something came up at work and I couldn't. Anyway, I went to borders and bought her book "Ageless". It all makes sense. I'm 47 and now I want to find a doctor who will prescribe the Bioidentical Hormones. I haven't felt good for a few years and maybe that will make a difference. I usually don't go to the Doctor or take prescription medication, because I'm self employed and my insurance would go through the roof. Isn't that ridiculous...but that's another subject. Anyway... of course I will have to eat more wisely and not drink. I already do yoga and love it. Right now I feel the best after I go to my yoga class. I can only imagine how good I could feel if I was hormonally balanced.

I thought she looked pretty good too -- you can tell she's had "work done" though. Hard to believe Chrissy Snow is 62 years old! I was glad Suzanne and those doctors didn't get into a pissing match. I like Dr. Christiane Northrup -- not read any of her books, but have liked her a lot on Oprah. She is way better than Dr. Oz!Comment

Somers is awesome and nuts at the same time. She makes so much sense. Her hormone theorys are accurate as i am feeling the same these days. Her family has a history of alcoholism and according to what i know she has written A book about recovery within her family! Since watching a clip of her today, i am calling my crotch doctor like Monday AM for an appointment. I need Estrogen like ASAP.. like she mentions; for 3 years her body had no idea what sex was. Well thats me. .. I am treating myself this weekend to one of her books.Comment

You are right CSO4 .. definately an inspirational woman Somers is!! Her journey starts way back to her earlier years. She had an alcoholic father. In fact that was the last discussion i had with my counselor, it was in reference to Suzanne Somers and how she changed her entire family!! My situation is based upon family differences as i said. Somers is a trip!! And she is really beautiful.Comment

Ripple, can your "crotch" doctor prescribe the Bioidentical hormones. You don't want the synthetic hormones. Yes, get one of her books either "Ageless" or "Breakthrough". I thinks she is doing something right and the reason conventional doctors don't prescribe the bioidentical hormones is because they are natural and cannot be patented by the drug companies, therefore no profit for the drug companies and doctors have no incentive to prescribe them. They are blended into cream at compounding pharmacies. Synthetic hormones have been linked to cancer, heart disease and a number of other undesireable diseases. But Docs still prescribe them...its crazy.
