I went to meetings for a number of years, same format wherever u are. U dont have to say anything, they will ask if any new member present and then they ask your first name after that meeting takes place when it comes to u to speak say I would prefer not to say anything ( if that is your decision) No judgements here, sombody will talk to u after the meeting probably will be tea/cofee. Fantastic support and great self growth. Nothing whatsoever to be afraid of. U can ask for someone to meet with u before the meeting and they will take u there. Good Luck:l

Marby here from the bar...have to wait 20 mins for the order so have put 50 cents into the internet box...Wishy- to be honest I have always hated the idea of any meetings or contact with people, but recently when I have opened up a little to a few people face to face, I have had nothing but very positve experiences.

I think you will find it a huge help- apart from your present situation with Cy, you also have lots to deal with from your childhood- I can only imagine it will be a big help to you- much better out than in.

Good on you, Wishy, for giving it a try! It can only help you cope....that is my take. I went to one meeting and I was a bit petrified before going but the fear was unfounded...it was not in the least intimidating once I walked in the door. I don't know why I didn't go back? Probably, it was because I started drinking right along with hubby. I am sure glad that is over!!
