that which does not kill us makes us stronger!

      Hello all,

I rarely bring my personal life to MWO but this morning I must vent a bit. I got the pink slip from my client this morning. In the back of my mind I knew it was coming and have been preparing mentally for it. In the past this would have been an automatic trigger or excuse to get tanked. THAT IS NOT AN OPTION THIS TIME! I am going to be strong and see this thru sober. Am I scared yes, and I worried yes, do I know others are in the same boat , yes. Now is the time for me to dig deeper and rely on every tool I have to get thru this is a positive manner. I am so grateful for you all.

I will use all my power to remain calm, cool and collected,

      Guy

PS, just typing it out makes me feel a bit better!

            CMH,
You did the right thing coming here where there are so many people who understand exactly how you feel. As you said yourself drinking is not an option. It can only make a bad situation worse. Setting your priorities and remaining calm and collected sounds like a solid plan. Hang in there and don't forget you are not alone. You have people here ready to give you all the support you want.

Sorry to hear that mate. I was made unemployed back in August and finding work is so hard at the moment. We'll get there mate, and the way I look at it now is money spent on booze is even more money wasted cause I need it for food, bills etc.

                Hi Guy,
I know how you feel, I was given the push in November, it is a shock, but I am using it as a chance to change my life. It is scary but also an opportunity.
You will get through this and be better for it.
                Take care

Although you may have been expecting this it does not make it any easier. I am glad that you are not allowing this to be a trigger. Remember a drink would not make this situation any better. I am, like you hoping that something better comes from this. Stay positive. Remember this will be the best year ever!!!

Just a quick touch down here. Have a busy day planned. Back in the day-I had stopped making any plans or commitments because I know I wouldn't be ale to keep them.

Day ten here. I will formulate a plan today. Resume is blasted everywhere, no unnecessary spending and I have been spending a lot of time on the SMART RECOVERY site. It has a lot of tools and articles that I am finding helpful. ALso, did you know they have online structured meetings each evening. It is like cyber AA. I like it! Might want to check it out. Msecond plan is to not read the paper or watch the news for a few days so that I do not FREAK out about the economy and possible unemployment!
