    Army Thread 2nd February 2009

Cy, sleep for me is such a curative. If I can get enough (about 10 hours) I am happy. If I dont, the weight of the world is on my shoulders. Let your body tell you what it needs, be that sleep, food, water, company or solace. You will beat it if you make a real effort to deal with your emotions, stop trying to blank them out.
    What time is your meeting?

          Good morning Troops.

Cy-the first week I didn't drink I think I slept almost around the clock. I still don't have the energy levels that I think I should have. But I have noticed a change for the better the last few days. Starting to get alittle more motivated. hang in there.

Starting- It's learning to deal with the emotions that are so hard for me. Sometimes my brain feels like it is on over load. lol

Evie-I don't have an in with the tooth fairy. :angelgirl: Will this do for now until you find a dentist?

Hi Lil, yes emotions are the hardest. But while we are still blanking we will never get well..so for instance I had to accept that my relationships werent what I wanted instead of just numbing the negative feelings. Now I am learning to manage my expectations of others. Its not easy, but it really is helping me.
Sorry if I am sounding preachy, I dont mean to...

Starts-no not preachy. sound like you're learning to take care of you. Sometimes I think when we stop drinking we expect everything to be perfect. But they're not. Life isn't perfect. It's about learning how to deal with things in a sober, rational way. Not hidding in a bottle.
