Kapo! Walk was invigorating! Deep deep snow, I am pretty soaked now, but glad I went.

      Marby Warby!
Those are very wise words...I shall use that analogy for my chew gum habit...it is getting easier, the cravings are still coming and going, but they are going which is great. Plus my pride is keeping me strong...plus a nasty headache that I have had for a couple of days!

Morning everyone. The baby has just gone home. She is a delight, but boy did she not want to sleep last night. Lovely having her over though.
Great words of advice there marbs.
Oney...like me with alcohol, I feel that not smoking will be and is your biggest challenge. Like me and drinking we have slipped many times, but you must be determined and WANT to stop. For all your family, but mostly you. Get some books and read up on it. And if you need to put a nic patch on to stop so be it. I need kudz and mwo and now hopefully meetings to get me through. It's better than the bottle. If you need a patch so be it. It's better than 20 a day. And don't say you don't like patches, cause like me, that is a cop out. Your nic brain telling you it's better to smoke. Were all friends here to help. Come on oney, don't be silly, it's not funny, it'll save you money!!!
Morning and evening to everyone else and welcome zen. You have made a great start by being here on mwo. Stay, post and read and listen. We help eachother.
Have a brill alc and nic free day!!
P.s How are you feeling without the gum starts?

Morning Cy! You are sounding good and positve today, its GREAT to hear! And lots of wise words too. I agree, I think a patch is better than smoking..I am sure that when I reduce the strength of the patches it wont be as hard as stopping either smoking or the gum...
I have quite a bad headache that I've had on and off since giving up the gum..I am not sure if its cos I was having so much nicotine or am having more now...I am tempted to rip off the patch but will keep it going for a bit longer, in the meantime I will have some nurofen or something.
Are you going to another meeting tonight? Are they always at the same place?

Good Day from the Frigid Northeastern US-A balmy 6degrees F this am. Brrrrr
How are you all? I hope you can get some rest today Wishy. Oney you might not want to put a patch on now if, like Marby said, all the nic is out of your system. You will then reintroduce the nic. But, like Cy said, anything, not to smoke.
I did the one hour meditation last night during Evie's prayer service. It was beautiful. LTG and Irisheyes were with me. I am dying to talk to them today to see how it went for them.

I had some trouble focusing with my son playing his video games very loudly downstairs and my daughter sitting in her room, which is right across from mine, smoking her marijuana and coughing. I put some earplugs in and that helped a bit. I am dying to talk to Evie because she was trying to reach me Mum. One of these days I will tell my story. A bit part of it was my Mum's sudden death. It happened right in my diningroom before my eyes and I have Not been OK since. I wrote down everything that I felt during the meditation and will share if you like.

I need to get one of those stones Oney.
My Mom was a wonderful woman who grew up dreadfully poor; one of fifteen children. She worked very hard right up until her death; sometimes three jobs at once. She never felt that her own Mother liked her and she had very low self esteem. Her first Husband, My sister's Da, was a very violent alcoholic and almost killed her. She had to take off, leaving her 3 sons behind. I can only imagine her pain. She meets and marries my Da, another alcoholic; then her teenage daughter (me) is out of control with AL and drugs and running away, etc.....To make a long story a bit shorter, I got married, had my 3 kids. My Dad retired, hit the lottery, bought himself a motorhome and took off. Only returned to New England for her funeral. She live with us in our two family house. She took care of my kids while I worked full time and went to graduate school. One night, I was off of work and was in my room reading. My then husband came upstairs and said Jackie your Mom is downstairs and she is having trouble breathing. I came downstairs, and as soon as I did, her eyes rolled back in her head, she clutched her chest and hit the floor. Being a Nurse, and not being able to save her has haunted me for many years. I completely fell apart after this. I treated the woman like shite while I was a teenager.

Oney ... well done of 4 days. I know it's a difficult thng to do, i've tried many times and failed. Your doing really well so keep it up and if putting on a patch means not smoking then you do it. x

Starts ... hows that head ache?

Sea ... so sorry to hear about your mum, must have been awful.

Oh Sea, I can completely see how that would affect you...talking about it and writing about it might help you release some of your sadness? I know it has helped me with my dad...hes dead too and I can never make amends either...but addressing it and accepting it has helped me enormously to stop hanging on to my past so tightly...I am sure it will help you too...

Wishy, I dont know where you get your energy from, but pass some this way please, I am lacking!!!

Well, part of Evie's service was about helping me to heal from that. I did not want to share what I felt during the service until I gave you some background on this beautiful woman.
