Oooh I am thinking of you Starts. Have you got any L-Glut handy? I found it helped with the cravings.

The book (Patrick Holdfolrd) suggests 4g's in the morning and again in the evening.

Do you think it has helped at all Starts?

Oh yes, for the alk, definitely, I stopped taking it (and kudzu) just before christmas and my cravings slowly but surely started returning....
I have just taken 2 grams (my normal dose) so will pop down and have another 2. Thanks Deebs. Are you taking it?

                        Stop smoking forum

Hello. I wanted to stop the bourbon and cigarettes at the same time so I did in October. I'd quit smoking so many times over the years, sometimes as long as several years, but would always go back. When? On a drunk, of course. That's why I wanted to tackle both issues concurrently. It's been over four months. I worked up to 200 mG of Topa, and slowly backed down to 25. I allow myself wine occasionally, and have had about four or five glasses since October.

A couple of people discouraged me from tackling two vices at once, but they seemed so intertwined that it made sense - in my head anyway.

Oh, I meant to say that Chantix worked for my smoking as well as the Topa worked for the drinking. I have a great family doctor. My shrink was ...eh. I am now off the Chantix and almost ready to completely drop the Topa. I kept a log of my drinking diligently and was good about taking all of the vitamins and supplements, but I was not good about listening to the CD's or exercising.
