magic solutions on how to get gum out of the dryer?

I can't believe that there is dried gum with black fuzz all over. I missed a piece of nicorette in one of my jean pockets.

It is a new dryer. :upset:

Any suggestions would be so very helpful!

    where is it AFM?
Is it one melted blob?? Maybe try freezing it with ice, and picking it off?...Or run the dryer for 5 minutes and pick off while warm (and hope it doesn't spread more)????

ummm...I have heard of using peanut butter when gum is in hair, but I don't know how or why it works...

    Good luck!!!!!!

It is all over inside the barrel. Splotches here; splotches there.

I would try warming the dryer, scraping it off, and then if there is still some left rub some oil on it and take a scouring pad to it and wipe dry.

You could go to your local dry cleaner and beg some of that drycleaning solution. Soak rags and stick them to the mess and then wipe - wipe - wipe.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TURN ON THE DRYER AFTER AS THE STUFF IS FLAMMABLE. Let it air out for a while first. Good luck.

There a cleaner called Goo Gone. It's used to take off gum, grease, tar, stickers ect. It's suppose to be environmentally safe on any surface. You might want to check it out on a small spot first.

Thank you all. I have heard of Goo Gone. I should invest in that stuff.

I went out with a friend for coffee to get away from the frustration. I tried the dryer sheet and scouring. I must be weak! It wasn't doing much for me.....

              but......... the scary thing is...........

When I came back, I tried a Huggies Baby Wipe. It took it right off. Oh dear - what do they put in those??

Thanks all. I will have to dig deeper into the pockets from now on to check for gum. xoxoxoxo

I have a friend whose children are older now and she still keeps baby wipes around to clean everything. She swears by them. Glad it came clean.

We call goo gone goof off at work, works on stickers people seems to stick up on our bathroom mirrors and stuff. Lushy that vinegar trick in the dishwasher was a great one, used it and now it seems to have just rinsed all the extra soap and stuff gone.
