Does anyone know why Chat doesn't work anymore?

I hope it's working especially for the new people. I used it day one of being here and it was great to meet folks here. They are still in my thoughts as I go thru the day.

Does anyone know why Chat doesn't work anymore?

I noticed that my computer recently updated with a newer version of Java and it seems that chat is still running on the older version. I get a message if I want to use older version before it launches. It opens really really slow now.
