I was here about 6 months when I had my first experience with tornados. I was house sitting for a friend and all alone. It was night time and the electricity went out and the sirens went off. My cell was taking hits. The next day at work I learned 2 of our cells were taken out in Fort Worth and we had to rebuild them. I was in a head spin, for sure.

The Elephant's Tail is what early settlers called tornadoes. I don't understand, but they had just begun to see elephants in circuses, and that was their best way to describe the way a tornado looked on the plains.sigpic

L, It's hard to explain tornado season to people who don't experience it, isn't it?sigpic

Yes, it is sometimes. When I moved here I didn't realize it was such an issue. I grew up with earthquakes in CA, then ice storms in Canada, then hurricanes in MA, tornados here, now going back to hurricanes in FL. You can run but you can't hide...LOL!!:l
