Hi guys.... little fly by greeting here!

Sounds like we all have things that test our patience, strength, and sanity, eh?

I had a call this afternoon - from my 16 year old son. Supposedly at some party he was offered and smoked dope with some older guy (older as in not in school, I assume) and was advised the next morning that he owed $100 for that. Of course, he didn?t have the money. According to his call, 3 guys came into the house (my house, the one my friend rents and where my son lives) today and took his X-Box, demanded $200 by the end of the week or else (no return of xbox and beating him to a pulp).

Thankfully, Michelle (my friend) was not home. I?m trying to explain to him that this is a little bigger than just about him. Of course, he doesn?t want to give names or the cops called but I feel that I?m (or he is) putting Michelle and Leah (toddler) in danger.

I?m thinking that the xbox is probably gone no matter what and he?ll most likely be beat up, no matter what as well. To top it off, I just paid bills yesterday and don?t have $200 even if I WANTED to pay it. Plus, I couldn't get money to him in a day, anyways. The other possibility is that all of this isn?t even true and he just wants/needs money.

Nice, eh? That's my day in a nut shell.

We will have to return the car by the end of next week. So we have to wait for check from insurance, pay off loan, apply for a new loan and buy a new car.

I dunno guys... I never smoked a joint in my life.. I don't know what that crap costs. Supposedly it was $100 - now he/they want double.

Here's the thing.. and it may sound horrible... I think he needs to get his ass kicked.

He needs SOME consequence. I've bailed him out so many times - at the expense of us all - a totalled truck (that belonged to a neighbour - 2nd time ever I left the kids alone overnight, a year ago, drunk, no license, no permission to EVER drive the truck without an adult present) - other stuff (motorcycle parts, etc.) he 'orders' from friends and then doesn't have the money to pay for.. so I end up paying for them because I'm so damn embarrassed. The kid ows me about $1500 and refuses to work... (He'll be 16 this year - no summer job, etc)...

I'm not sure yet what I'm gonna do.
