Just dropping by for one minute.
LTG...you need to contact your state's insurance commisioner. I worked for an insurance company as an adjuster for 14 years. They cannot yank you out of the rental prior to your receipt of their check....in our state they must give you a resonable amount of time to locate a replacement vehicle...ie/ 3-5 days.

Here's the thing.. and it may sound horrible... I think he needs to get his ass kicked.
He needs SOME consequence. I've bailed him out so many times - at the expense of us all - a totalled truck (that belonged to a neighbour - 2nd time ever I left the kids alone overnight, a year ago, drunk, no license, no permission to EVER drive the truck without an adult present) - other stuff (motorcycle parts, etc.) he 'orders' from friends and then doesn't have the money to pay for.. so I end up paying for them because I'm so damn embarrassed. The kid ows me about $1500 and refuses to work... (He'll be 16 this year - no summer job, etc)...
:upset:
I'm not sure yet what I'm gonna do.
.
My brother in law was always bailed out too...I dont think it helped him much either....Living now and not just existing since 9th July 2008
Nicotine Free since 6th February 2009

LTG, that is awful. You must be so annoyed, stay calm hun x
Sunny, sorry to hear about your son, that must have been quite scary.
Zenny, the cat is soooooo cute!
Well i'm in the process of preparing dinner, we are having roasted potatoes (cooked in beef dripping), honey roast carrots and lamb with gravy. It's all from packets so no real effort put in and Cy is cooking the lamb when he gets back. Think he thinks i'll over cook it (prob doesn't help that i asked him how to cook it, i'm useless with lamb)!!

Can you negotiate with the insurance company, let the adjuster know your situation....perhaps he/she would be willing to cover 1/2 of the rental expenses while you are gone so you can come back and tackle this. Or, maybe you will be blessed with luck...I'll pray for you....and will fall into some remarkably great deal and get this settled before Tuesday....we can only hope!

Yeah, I know... or I don't know... Like I said... I wouldn't put it past him to make up the story to get me to give him money....
I have a friend that Matt really likes involved now... he will call him tonight and see if he hears anything of this story...
The other thing is... that XBox was WAYYYYY over budget for Christmas. Yes, Mr. Wonderful chipped in but it was STILL way more than I was prepared to spend (especially, since I have 2 kids.. and what's good for one has to be for the other as well) but he wanted it SO bad....
*sigh*Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?
Winning since October 24th, 2013
