How heads do you have now and how many calves?

80 cow and only 5 calves so far. They aren't due to start calving until March 1st but you always have the oddballs that go early. They are predicting a blizzard for tomorrow so that will probably draw a few more out. Seriously, the low pressure usually forces some to drop calves. We don't have any heifers this year so we shouldn't have to pull any (I hope).

I don't mean oddballs negatively...that's just what they call them. Actually, they are usually the older cows that never have any trouble. (Probably the horny ones that got to the bull first

You are going to be busy the several weeks! How much land do you have? My granddaughter would love to visit your horse. She's only 4 but loves horses. I've already started getting her books on them. She looks at the pictures now and can read later in life. The girl has 3 pairs of riding boots...LOL!! No, Grandma doesn't spoil :H

1/2 section, 1/2 pasture the other cropland. Red loves kids. She's a grandma herself so she's so gentle when you put littleones on her....you can just see it in her eyes.

Hi all. Whats been happening today then folks?
I have slept nearly all day, and feel a little better now. The rest did me good. Had something to eat, and im going to have a nice hot bath now. Hopefully ill feel better then.

L, you'll find lots of horses around, almost anywhere. My childhood friend both rescued an historic, massive barn here, and started a riding program for diasabled children. Her husband worked w/mine & is now retired 2 help her. They need help all the time, but live the most fulfilled lives. Kids that can't walk come alive on the backs of her 'friends'. She's one of my treasures.

MY LAST POST FOR AWHILE: Doesn't that sound ominous! I have to go. I'm working on my things, and, like my last post, things that aren't about me. We can't be so selfish as to be drunken and inward if we really want to help others. If we see, really see, what a little bit of ourselves brings to those who have no choice in their physical life, well, it's a crime to not jump in and spend that energy (and money) to help them. There but for the Grace Of God, go I, and more especially, our children, grandchildren. When I think how lucky I have been to be blessed with these beautiful, healty babes, I'm really brought to my knees over my excesses and waste. I'm sorry to wax on like this, but sobriety has revealed my faults, and the needs of others, that I can't overlook. I am still me, but I will have to look to repairing damage I've done, and look forward to helping as much as I can.
