    Pain Killer Addiction

    You're right on Fickle,
who wants to complain all the time (though I'm sure venting here)? I try to say fine I am, and be upbeat...I don't let anyone in the community know my med routine...but between pain and that dumbed out med feeling, I am not exactly on anyone's "a" list of for a good time call....
It sounds like you have so much else going on also..I hate to whine,
Lot of folks I know are having the hip procedure where they resculpt it rather than replace it. Option for you? Bit less invasive.

    Starty,
I have been grappling with depression on and off for a long time...I feel better, do to much..get slapped back down where no meds can reach.

gonna go work in the garden a bit...take the dog out.
wish I could be like the cartoon, where the guy is sitting at the counter ordering for himself and his best friend (sorry don't know any of the punch lines)and it's a sweet dog

    whole nother can of worms
    thank y'all for being here

            Pain Killer Addiction

I asked about pain killers, as I realised to my dismay that I was continuing to take Solpadeine which I had used for hangovers whilst drinking, even though I have been AF for a month now. Solpadeine can be bought over the counter in the UK and contains 8mg of codeine as well as paracetamol and caffeine. I never exceeded the maximum amount and mostly less than that, but it has been over a number of years.

The reason I had asked was because of the severe headache that developed once I stopped taking them four days ago now. Thankfully startingover pointed me to this thread which has been a real help. Now on day 4 at last the worst seems to be over, a salutary lesson for me.

My best wishes and admiration to all who suffer from pain on a continual basis, my experience is nothing by comparison but I thought this thread to be important so this serves as a bump.

Just to add, this has brought back to me something that I discovered about my mother. She had Motor Neurone Disease and during the process of the disease I discovered that she had been addicted to tranquilisers, Meprobamate, for a little over 40 years, they had been repeat prescribed for most of that time. It was an incredible shock as no one knew, and who knows the Meprobamate may have been a contributing factor, it certainly had the profile for it. A silent addiction indeed.
I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you.

The best medication for anxiety and panic attacks is Xanax and it should be taken upon the prescription because there can be an adverse reaction of this. If this pill is taken for a longer time then it can cause the addiction so always stay used the physicians prescription.
