:H Well said Oney. I think it's harder than doing 60 days AF.

That makes sense Marbs. I'm still keen to go for a couple of sessions.
I saw the other day that she has written a book for children and apparently had great sucess treating kids .... hmm maybe I should send my teenager to her.

There was a time when I was very disheartened- lots of people here were much 'newer' than me, and they were stringing together AF days, weeks and they became months- I felt there was something even more wrong with me, because I could hardly manage a week at a stretch. I thought I must be very very weak minded, and had almost come to terms with the fact that this was eventually, in the not too far future, likely to kill me.

After reading the Dr. Eskapa book, and discovering that our brains become wired through repetition of habit, I was able to come to understand maybe my brain was just more 'wired' than most- probably because I came to Spain when I was just 16, started working in bars, where drinking was a very necessary part of the job- if you didn't drink you were not any use to the bar- and there was not any other type of work in those days for foreigners here.

The more I was able to drink, the more I was in demand employment wise- so I am finally able to see perhaps I am not weaker than others but just extremely well wired to drink in the neural department. Just this change of belief alone has done wonders for my confidence and finally I believe I can beat it too, and am no longer on the outside looking in.

Isint it amazing how powerful knowledge is! You never gave up Marbs, you were always looking for a solution otherwise you wouldn't have read Dr Eskapa's book.

I am so pleased that you have the confidence now to know that you can beat this -- I'm rooting for you all the way Marbs.

Aw thanks oners, I got tears in me eyes now ...

I still have a long way to go- the Sinclair method typically takes about 4 months until the drinker no longer really thinks about alcohol- some folk then abstain completely- some just become social drinkers, but if you decide to drink socially, you must take the Naltrexone before taking a drink for the rest of your days, or else you run the risk of becoming re-addicted. I hope that it will become so unimportant to me that I abstain completely- it tastes bloody foul anyway.

Still tired today, but maybe not as tired as yesterday, but then I have done nowt today. I got back from the hospital and had to sleep for an hour...not normal. And that was after a really strong cup of coffee and 8 hours sleep during the night.

The first few days were bad- I nearly gave up again, but then others on the Sinclair thread said they had been very nauseous too- it made a big difference having others to compare notes with this time
